Responsibilities for Shop Assistants:

The responsibilities for the job of Shop Assistant are as following.

• Deliver excellent customer service by confidently responding to customer queries.
• Greet customers warmly as they enter and leave the store.
• Promote store offers and latest promotions to customers.
• Operate POS systems: scan, weigh, and record product prices accurately.
• Process payments, issue dockets, and provide accurate change.
• Ensure adequate change, wrapping, and checkout materials are always available.
• Count and record daily cash transactions.
• Package grocery and produce items properly.
• Keep shelves fully stocked, tidy, and well-labeled.
• Assist in preparing store displays and promotional setups.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements for Shop Assistants:

The requirements for the job of Shop Assistant are as following.

• At least 1 year of relevant retail experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Positive, “can-do” attitude with flexibility to work varied shifts.
• Ability to work 7 days rostered, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must have a clean criminal record.
