Security Officer Cruise Ship Jobs. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer for our passenger fleet, offering a 6-month employment period. The ideal candidate will possess strong security, military, or police experience and be prepared to work within an international crew. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the security of the ship, ensuring the implementation of the Ship Security Plan (SSP) and Standard Procedures, and managing access control and security screening. You will also conduct patrols in restricted and passenger areas, investigate incidents, and compile reports. Strong communication skills and a high level of fitness are essential for this position.
Description
We are looking for Security Guards, with strong security, military or police experience.
Candidates should be ready to work in international crew.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS)
- Skills and ability to recognise, understand and deal with potential security threats
- Fully qualified with a proven record of competence for the position
- An above-average level of fitness and skills in tactful, diplomatic crisis and problem solving
- Excellent English language skills, both written and oral
- Read, understand and comply with the Standing Orders of the Master, the Ship Security Plan
- (SSP), Security Standard Procedures and other Standard Procedures that impact the security
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in security training, drills and exercises.
Maintain security of the ship and the implementation of the SSP and Standard Procedures. Responsible for gangway security & access control. Responsible for security screening of passengers, crew and visitors belongings and personal effects to prevent dangerous and prohibited items being brought onto the vessel. Undertake security patrols of Restricted, Controlled and Vulnerable areas
