Laundry Assistant Job in New Zealand at Summerset is hiring a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant for its Cambridge village team. The role includes cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities. In addition, you will launder, fold, label, mend, and return residents’ clothing and linens with care. You will also support infection control and health and safety procedures. Furthermore, you will build friendly and respectful relationships with residents and understand their unique needs. Housekeeping experience, ideally in healthcare or hospitality, is preferred. However, no aged care experience is necessary because full training is provided.

A Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant at Summerset is more than just a cleaner.
You’re a quiet hero behind the scenes. You help keep our village fresh, homely, and dignified for the people who live here.
We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Cambridge village team. In this role, you will help make sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.
As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you’ll play a key part in creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.
Your Day-to-day Activities Will Include
- First, ensure high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities.
- Next, launder, fold, and return residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention.
- In addition, label, mend, and maintain residents’ personal laundry items.
- Also, support infection control measures and health and safety procedures.
- Finally, build friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understand their unique needs.
We Have Two Permanent Positions Available
- Position one: Working on a roster of four days on, two days off.
- Position two: Working on a two days on, four days off.
Qualifications
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
- Also, take pride in your work and care about the small details.
- In addition, are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet.
- Finally, have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided).
