Responsibilities for Fruit Picker:

The responsibilities for the job of Fruit Pickers are as following.

• Picking row and orchard crops such as apples, cherries, and berries
• Grading fruits and vegetables based on size, shape, color, and volume for market pricing
• Packing sorted produce into containers for shipment
• Sorting fruits and vegetables with a focus on quality control
• Writing basic daily progress reports to track work completed

Requirements for Fruit Picker:

The requirements for the job of Fruit Picker are as following.

• Work Term: Seasonal
• Language: English
• Hours: 30 to 45 hours per week
• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Experience: Experience is an asset but not mandatory
• Willingness to relocate for the duration of the job is required

Skills and Knowledge Desired:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, kneeling, and working under tight deadlines
• Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors when grading fruit
• Strong organizational skills and reliability
• A team player who demonstrates good judgment and strong work ethics
• Quick learner willing to adapt to the pace and expectations of the harvest season
