Job Description

The United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre is seeking a professional Driver to join its administrative team in Doha Qatar. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong safety record and a commitment to service excellence. The Driver will provide logistical and transportation support, contributing to the daily operations of the Centre and its international mission.

Responsibilities for Driver:

The responsibilities for the job of Drivers are as following.

  • Safely transport UN personnel and authorized guests within Qatar
  • Deliver parcels, documents, and official materials between UN offices and government institutions
  • Assist with protocol procedures including visas, residencies, and vehicle licensing
  • Meet and assist officials at the airport, including immigration and customs clearance
  • Collect goods and oversee customs documentation and clearance
  • Maintain the vehicle in top condition, perform minor repairs, and keep logs for trips, fuel usage, and maintenance
  • Handle data collection, entry, and visualization tasks for internal reporting
  • Draft basic correspondence and assist with clerical support
  • Ensure safety compliance and emergency procedures in case of accidents
  • Perform additional duties as needed by the Centre’s administration

Requirements for Driver:

The requirements for the job of Drivers are as following.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • License: Valid national driver’s license is mandatory
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant driving experience (experience waived for university graduates)
    • Proven experience in driving vans, sedans, and other motorized vehicles
    • Experience in international or diplomatic settings is an advantage
  • Languages:
    • Fluent in Arabic (required)
    • Working knowledge of English (required)

Skills and Knowledge Desired:

  • Strong knowledge of driving laws and local routes
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, traffic laws, and protocol standards
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse stakeholders
  • Basic skills in record-keeping, computer usage, and document preparation
  • Calm and composed under pressure, with sound judgment in emergencies
  • Able to represent the UN’s values with integrity and decorum
