Responsibilities for Dairy Farm Worker:
The responsibilities for the job of Dairy Farm Workers are as following.
- Assist with daily milking operations including setup, cleaning, and managing milking systems
- Feed livestock and observe their behavior, health, and well-being
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of animal housing, milking sheds, and equipment
- Carry out regular farm maintenance tasks such as fencing, spraying, and minor repairs
- Support calving, moving herds, and treating minor health issues under supervision
- Accurately maintain records of milking, feed schedules, and animal health reports
- Follow strict health, safety, and biosecurity guidelines on the farm
Requirements for Dairy Farm Worker:
The requirements for the job of Dairy Farm Workers are as following.
- Minimum 6 months of relevant dairy or livestock experience OR
- A Level 2 or higher qualification related to agriculture or animal husbandry
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required
Skills and Knowledge Desired:
- Basic knowledge of dairy farm operations and livestock behavior
- Physical fitness and endurance to perform labor-intensive tasks
- Time management and ability to adhere to strict routines
- Good communication and record-keeping abilities
