Responsibilities for Civil Engineer:
The responsibilities for the job of Civil Engineers are as following.
Project Management:
- Oversee the execution of civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to financial constraints.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor project milestones and report progress to senior management.
- Ensure all activities comply with contracts, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
Site Supervision:
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Provide technical solutions and guidance to site teams.
- Address and resolve on-site issues, minimizing rework and delays.
- Investigate safety incidents and enforce safety compliance.
- Collaborate with contractors to ensure effective workflow and minimal disruption.
Design and Planning:
- Review engineering documents, installation drawings, and method statements.
- Provide input on feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Participate in design development, ensuring alignment with construction requirements and local codes.
- Resolve design conflicts and suggest value-engineering options.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure high construction standards.
- Perform material and workmanship inspections.
- Identify and report non-conformities and follow up with corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and environmental regulations.
Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and project teams to align multidisciplinary efforts.
- Foster a collaborative work culture with effective communication.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
Requirements for Civil Engineer:
The requirements for the job of Civil Engineers are as following.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in civil engineering project execution, preferably in the Middle East
- Strong knowledge of local and international engineering codes and standards
- Proven track record in managing large infrastructure or building projects
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling tools
- Familiarity with QA/QC protocols and site safety standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to handle complex site situations with quick decision-making
Skills and Knowledge Desired:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, or Primavera P6
- Time management and multitasking under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus
