Responsibilities for Caregiver:
The responsibilities for the job of Caregivers are as following.
- Provide high-quality care and support to residents with compassion, patience, and respect.
- Assist residents with daily living activities including personal care, mobility, and meal support.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and caring environment for residents and their families.
- Support residents living with dementia in a respectful and empathetic manner.
- Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards in all caregiving activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure residents receive holistic and consistent care.
Requirements for Caregiver:
The requirements for the job of Caregivers are as following.
- Proven experience in caregiving, preferably in an aged care environment.
- Minimum NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent New Zealand/overseas qualification (e.g. Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing).
- Dementia care experience is desirable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Genuine compassion, patience, and a positive, friendly attitude.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures.
Skills and Knowledge Desired:
- Empathy and a caring nature.
- Ability to build strong relationships with residents and their families.
- Team collaboration and adaptability to various shifts (AM, PM, night, weekends).
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality care.
