Welder Jobs in Australia. Thornton Engineering is seeking skilled and trade-qualified Welders to join our experienced fabrication team at our Corio, VIC workshops. Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), Flux-core, and/or SMAW (Stick) processes
- Interpret and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to determine correct consumables and variables
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety
- Operate and maintain welding machines, power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment
- Produce fabricated components in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Work collaboratively with boilermakers, welders, and supervisors
- Identify and report defects, faults, or safety issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
Requirements
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Welder) or equivalent
- Ability to pass a welder qualification test
- Strong experience in GMAW (MIG) welding
- Experience in TIG, Flux-core, and/or Stick welding (advantageous)
- Experience welding stainless steel (advantageous)
- Ability to read and interpret welding and fabrication documentation
- Current and valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Forklift, Dogman (DG), and/or other high-risk work licences (highly regarded)
