Responsibilities

As a Caregiver at Brookhaven Retirement Village, you will:

• Provide high-quality care to residents with compassion, kindness, and patience.
• Assist residents with daily living activities while maintaining their dignity.
• Support residents in a warm, caring, and safe environment.
• Contribute to a positive atmosphere by engaging with residents and making them feel valued.
• Work shifts as needed, including AM, PM, and weekend shifts on a casual, as-required basis.

Requirements

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g., Bachelor or Diploma in Nursing).
• At least one year of caregiving experience or experience in a related field.
• Experience in dementia care or a similar specialised area.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand (visa support may not be available).
