Responsibilities for Security Officer:
The responsibilities for the job of Security Officers are as following.
- Ensure the security and safety of guests, employees, and hotel property
- Monitor and control access to guest room areas and hotel facilities
- Conduct routine patrolling of public areas, back-of-house, and outdoor locations
- Handle and report incidents related to fire, safety, theft, or unauthorized access
- Monitor the CCTV system and respond to suspicious activities
- Manage Lost & Found, including logging, storing, and returning items to guests or staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the security office and document registers
- Check staff and property using the “Property Removal Form”
- Support traffic control and guide guests or visitors to hotel outlets
- Open guest room safes as required following protocol
- Draft accurate incident reports and ensure thorough documentation
- Inspect and report any irregularities in fire equipment or maintenance concerns
- Adhere to all company policies and Fairmont & Raffles safety management systems
Requirements for Security Officer:
The requirements for the job of Security Officers are as following.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar security role, preferably in a luxury hotel
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications in security preferred)
- Knowledge of fire safety, emergency response, and health & safety protocols
- Must be familiar with basic report writing, key management, and guest interactions
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
- Clean background and physical fitness to patrol for extended hours
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong understanding of hotel security operations and guest service culture
