Farm Assistant Jobs Full Description

Our client is looking for motivated Farm Assistant in the Waikato area, with weekly guaranteed hours of at least 40 and a gross annual salary of $85800.
In this role you will be part of a successful team, work in the production farm environment. You will be working on a busy dairy farm, this role will keep you on your toes. Rental accomondation will be provided, the employee will need to pay for the rental charge, electricity and internet cost.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Breeding and raising livestock for the farm production.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of livestock.
  • Providing pastures and fodder to maintain appropriate nutritional levels.
  • Moving livestock to optimise feeding opportunities.
  • Organising and conducting farming operations such as catching, drenching and milking livestock, sterilising machines, and collecting, grading and packaging produce.
  • Directing and overseeing general farming activities such as maintaining pens, sheds and cages, fertilising, controlling pests and weeds, and growing fodder
    maintaining fences, equipment and water supply systems.
  • Organising the sale, purchase and transportation of livestock and produce.
  • Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities, monitoring market activity and planning production accordingly.

The Ideal Candidate Will Need:

  • At least 1 year’s experiences
  • Must be reliable and willing to learn new things.
  • Must be hard working.
  • Self-motivated and a pro-active attitude.
  • Must have reliable transport.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must have a valid drive license, international license is also accepted.
