Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Housekeeper to support a large Private Residence in the Caledon East area on a 6-month contract basis with a possibility to convert to permanent for the right candidate. The desired candidate will have experience providing exceptional housekeeping services to a busy single family residence. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the general appearance of the private residence.
Tasks Will Include But Not Limited To:
- Cleaning the various areas of the home including the bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living spaces, gym, theatre, etc.
- Care of furnishings, finishes, and delicate surfaces including care of art, marble, and other surfaces (training will be provided)
- Laundry – including washing, ironing, steaming, and linen care (including washing delicate fabrics)
- Making beds and ironing sheets
- Closet organization, always maintaining personal effects properly
- Organizing and managing household inventories
- Pantry and fridge monitoring and reporting of requirements
- Garbage and Recycling management
- Sorting and preparing dry cleaning
- Answering the doorbell, greeting guests and visitors
- Occasional pet management (walking, feeding, and supervision)
- Supervise and give direction to any 3rd party services (i.e. window cleaners, repairmen, etc.)
- Supporting kitchen staff with dishes, polishing silverware, ironing linens, etc.
- Assistance with private and social events, as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of similar work experience.
- English language proficiency and strong communication skills
- Experience in hands-on household work and knowledge of all areas of property cleaning and organizing
- Experience with museum-quality cleaning and care for delicate surfaces, fine art, considered an asset
- Keen attention to detail and proactive in approach
- Occasional flexibility in working hours, according to employer’s needs
- Takes initiative and confidence in own abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Professionalism, polish, discretion, and confidentiality are integral
Additional Information:
- Full-Time, 6 months contract with potential to turn into a permanent roll
- Standard hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm (hours can vary based)
